Frequently Asked Injury Case Questions
Most frequent questions and answers
Can I post photos to my facebook after an accident
Do not post photos to any social media platform after you have been in an accident. Often the posts that you make with the photos can be used against you later on in your case. It is very important to take photos after your accident. Take photos of your injury, the scene, and the damage that the accident caused. But once you have the photographs and/or videos, keep them in a safe place and do not post them.
What is a Demand Letter in a lawsuit?
A demand letter is a formal offer for settlement sent by your law firm in an injury case. This is the opportunity for the insurance carrier and your lawyer to evaluate the claim and potentially resolve the claim pre-suit with a settlement between the parties. The Demand Letter will often be sent along with your medical records, bills, and other evidence from the wreck.
What do I do if I am uninsured?
If you do not have insurance and have been in an accident that was not your fault, you will still want to take the necessary steps to document your case. Take notes and photographs at the scene. Once you have had time to get to safety, and possibly receive medical treatment, contact a law firm to determine if you may be covered through someone else’s policy.
What should I do if the police report is wrong in an accident?
If a police report has an error or is incorrect, you will need to contact the police department directly and report the error. The police department will contact the reporting and investigating officer to ask them to review their report and determine if any changes need to be made.
How long does a personal injury case take?
The length of a personal injury case depends on the time of treatment, negotiations, and litigation. While every case is different, our team has seen pre-suit injury cases resolve on average within 6-12 months.
Do I need to get my own medical records in an injury case?
